"April 29, 1905-Jules Valentine, a negro was hanged at
Donaldsonville, Lae, yesterday (l-28-1905), One morning
last September, Valentine entered the home of W. Ce Haze
lip at Donaldsonville, bent on robbery. He accidentally
aroused Mrs. Hazlip and to quiet her struck her a terrific
blew in the face, knocking her left eyeball from its seek-
