MARABLE, Jack
Marable, a lO«year~old white native of Tuscaloosa, 4la., was a house
painter by trade. He had a record of seven felony con&kctions in
Alabama and had escaped from Kilby Prison on Jan. 1, 1939. He was
bumming his way about the country when he met and persuaded 17-year
old Robert Kimmich to join him in his wanderings. On the night of
Octe 39 19395 they abducted a 23-year-old Olympia, “ash., housewife
from the steps of the post office at Olympia and forced her to drive
them to a deserted farm house outside of Olympia where they took
turns baping her, They then returned her to Olympia and left her at
the post office. Beth were positively identified, tried and convicted
under Washington's "little Lindburgh law", Kimmich received a 50-year
sentence while Marable was sentenced to death. He was hanged at
Washington State Prison on Octe hy 190.
