CONYEARS, Sol

"August 12, 1887-Sol Conyears was hanged at Hampton, S. C,
for the murder of Jordan Robinson, He said the sentence
was just." NEWS, Galveston, Texas, 8-1-1887 (3-3).

According to Chicago TRIBUNE, undated, 1888,con-
taining 1887 executions listing and sent by Dr.

James L, Massey, U. of Ga. Sociology Dept., he
was black.
