BROWN, Albert

Executed, Bradford G00, Pas, on July 1, 1875, for murder-
ing and Gea geniiys 5e-year-old Cora Greenleaf on Aug. 28,
18743; Brown, a Negro, enticed the child into an empty
house (the Williams house) raped her and cut her throat;
was a farm hand employed by James Williams of Canton
Township; was apprehended on railroad track back of the
house; he had been struck by a freight train, his leg
broken and head badly cuts; confessed, was taken to jail
and his leg amputated; tried in Dec. term number 132;
sentenced Dece 16; see Bradford MKRWREK REPORTER, To-
wanda, Sept. 10, 18711 and July 1, 18753 warrant issued
June 1, 1875.

Township; was apprehended on railroad track back of the

houses he had been struck by a freight train, his leg
broken and head badly cut; confessed, was taken to jail
and his leg amputated; tried in Dec. term number 1323
sentenced Dec. 16; see Bradford RKRUREK REPORTER, To-
wanda, Sept. 10, 1874 and July 1, 18755 warrant issued
June 1, 1875.
