TRUCK, John

Truck, a l3-year-old white farm laborer who generally ran a steam en-
gine for a thresher during threshing Season, UAEAXXKXNMKEYYXULXYY
had lived in Homer, N. Y.,for several years, prior to which he had
lived in a number of other towns and villages including Virgil where
he had become acquainted with Frank W, Miller, a hOm-year=old bachelor
farmer who lived alone, He had also served a ‘term SBEXEXAAXENEXENS
SXEK in Auburn Prison for Stealing and Slaughtering a cow, Late off
the night of March 1), 1899, Miller was seen driving away from the
Miller farm in a wagon owned by Miller and drawn by one of Miller's
horses. Shortly afterwards the Miller home was noticed to be on fire,
While those who rushed to the scene were unable to cohtain the blaze,
they were able to drag what was left of Millerts bedy from the house,
but it was so damaged by the fire that it was Lmpossible to deduce
the cause of death, On March 16, Truck was arrested near Cardiff in
Onondaga Co., and at the time of his arrest he was driving Miller's
Wagon and horse, wearing a suit of Miller's clothes and overcoat, and
had in his possession Miller's watch and some of his other property.
