"..eHenry, slave of J, P. Erwin,was indicted fo
killing 'Diana Erwin, a freee, white woman,' The
offense was committhd April 22, 1860, by strik-
ing the victim over the head with a billet of
wood. The case came before the following jury:
Shadrack Maness, John Cannon, Wm, Vertrees, Sam
uel Irvine, Benjamin New, E. S. Boyington, B. J
Young, G. “, Prewett, J. C. Goodman, F. F. Car-
roll, ,Joseph Roark and John Muledock on Jf@ly 12,
1860, and he was sentenced to hang Tuesday,
September 7, 1860. The executionwas duly car-~
