hanged at Folsom Prison this morning for the murder of

_ Easton ascended the gallows ithout assistance, and betray-

ed no fear of death. Before the black cap was adjusted he

| thanked the prison officials and guards for the treatment

accorded him, but made no statement concerning the crime

' for the commission of which he paid the penalty with his

life. The trap was sprung at 10:02 o'clock this morning.

Easton's neck being broken and fifteen minutes later the

physicians in attendance pronounced life extinct, No un-

usual incident atteneded the execution, Easton killed
