Wein’ qhentin, Auge ly 1911-Demetri Treschenki was execu- |
ted in the State Prison here today for the murder of
Dorothy Malakanoff, aged ten years, in Safi Francisco

on Feb. 12, 1909. He walked calmly to the gallows and
said nothing before the trap was sprung. In fourteen
minutes he was pronounced dead. Treschenko, who was
fifty-two years of age, was infatuated with the child,
who resented his attentions. He lay in wait for her as -
she came from school, and shot her down on the street.
After his conviction an appeal was taken to the Supreme
