"a double hanging (ab Murphysboro, Jackson Co,, Ill.)
occurred May 31, 1895. A picture states: 'Henderson
and Jeffreys just before hanging, May 31, 1895..Murphys-
boro, Ill, I think this hanging was the result of a
change of venue from Williamson Co,, Ill. I believe
these men murdered a man they saw walking down a rail-
road track,"
