According to HERALD, New York, May 21, 1886m page 10,
he was a 16 year old tramp in the fall of 1883 #hen he
drifted into Kingston. Was taken ih by brothers

Edwin & Waller Kelland who owned a saloon and lived

in rooms overhead. Willett given a room of his own.

On 1/7/1884, Kelland was murdered in bed and apartment
robbed.
