Offence: Murder

Location: Pickens: Co. SG

Ex Date: 10-19-1839

DetGadelis): This miscreant bushwacked and murdered a

Mr. Baxter and his two children as they
were travelling by carriage through Pickens County en
route to Georgia. The motive was robbery. The villain
confessed and implicated his master, one Riley, as the
author of numerous crimes for which he was the instru-
ment. Riley absconded.
