Ditson, a 39-year-old jeweler, Carlos Cisneros, 26, and
Robert Ward, 35, comprised a hold-up gang tha + robbed
Various California jewlery stores, markets, bowling
alleys, gas stations and drugstores for over a yeare

On Nove 6, 1959, Ditson and Cisneros murdered, mutilated
and dismembered the body of Ward and left it in Soledad
Canyon. Convicted, both were sentenced to die, but the
Governor commuted Cisneros! sentence to life imprisonment.
Ditson died in San Quentin's gas chamber on Nov. 21, 1962.
