"HAltimore, Md., March 15, 1852-Joshua Morgan, convicted
of the murder of James McGovern, was sentenced today, in
the Criminal Court, to be hung. He is only 18 years old,"

NEW YORK TIMES, New York City, Ne. Ye,3-16=1852, Anbdther
squib tnder same dateline, sayss"Joshua Morgan, the mr~
derer, is to be hung at City Point today." Find no mention
in next day's paper, so this must be in error,"

Hearn thinks commuted but no cite to that
effecte
