Details: Bascom was a negro who killed a white man

named John Marlow. On 8-7-73 the victim
returned home from a shopping trip to a bookseller and
found himself short one book. He then determined that
he had dropped the missing book on the road and so re-
traced his steps in hope of retrieving the lost book.
