refortatory for car theft. He was in the afmy for a short
while, but when he failed to enter Officers! Candidate
School, he deserted and commenced running moonshine whiske
Released after serving 1 year in Federal Prison, he was
Sentenced again in Tennessee for stealing building material
and escaped. He obtained a job in an Akron, Ohio, super
Market and on the night of” March 25, 1960, he burglarized
-a._camera store, As he was leaving, police cars summoned
by a hidden burglar alarm arrived and he fled over a back
fence. He was followed by 23~year=old policeman Floyd
