Campbell, a 26-year-old black man, Electrocuted Ga, State
Prison on March 26, 1918, Was a convict working in reck
quarry on road gang in Floyd Co, He and four other cons
overpowered the guards, took their guns and the others hele
guards prisoners while Campbell went to get a car for es-
capee Flagzed down a motorist, Mr. Chandler, ppened door
and drew pistol, When Chandler started to drive off, he
shot, in@licting fatal wound, Then forced Chandler from
car, took it and returned for other prisoners. Appealed
