"Aaron B, Stookey, in a fight on April 17, 1851, stabbed
and killed Edward Moore, The murderer was placed on
trial in the Court of Oyer and Terminer on May 1, 1851.
The trial came up before Judge John W. Edmonds and
Alderman Edmund Griffen and Daniel Dodge. The prisoner
was found guilty of mrder in the first degree. Stookey
was executed at the Tombs prison (New York City) on
September 19, 1851,"
