some days ago to kill his master, Mr. Purdon,
was hung yesterday afternoon in accordance with
the sentence pronounced by the Criminal Caurt,
The execution took place in the rear of the New
Prison on the ‘track of the old Bayou Railboad in
the center of which a scaffold was erected for
the occasion. A strong force of guards belong-
ing to the Police of the Municipality were pre-
sent with fixed bayonets. A grave was dug with-
in a few feet of the spot where the body was
