CONNOLLY, Ann, GEORGE, John, HATCHER, Edward, JORDAN,
Josiah,SMITH, Thomas, and STACEY, Robert
All whites, hanged in Charleston, South Carolina. Had
robbed and murdered John Nicholas Wightman on night of
March 12, 1788. Captured, tried, condemned and executed
shortly thereafter, Hatcher was a ship's carpenter who
gave evidence on which all was convicted. Recanted on the
