Fleagle, the son of a Garden City, Kans., farmer, his broth
and two other holdup artists, George J, Abshier and Howard
ton, entered the First National Bank of Lamar, Colo., shortly after
lunch on May 23, 1928, and forced the bank's empecaeee to lie flat
onthe floor. While they were putting the bank's money and securi-
tlesgxknmxmk into a flour sack, the eldery bank president, Ae N,
Parrish , stepped from his office and shot .Roystons The other robbers
returned the fire and killed Parrish on the spot. His son, John f,
Parris h, the pank 'sceashic er, got up from the floor and grabbed his
father's pistol, but he was shot and killed before he could fire at
the bandits, After they had placed $218,000. in the bag, they forced
