From (extract) a Miss. newspaper named THE
GUARD, May 8, 1844;"0n Monday last, a son of
Mr. vames W, "Haley Of this county, aged about
16 years, was most shockingly murdered, as is
supposed, by @ negro woman who was with him at
work in a field some distance from the house,
it is supposed that young Haley attempted wo
Whip her and in the attempt lost his life. His
face and head were much mangled from blows of
the hoe with which the woman was at her wonk,
