Slave Woman

"The body of Mrs. Stone, an elderly lady, was
found murdered in Prince William Parish about
two miles from Port Republic ferry on the 8th
instant. The deed had been perpetrated the
day before by a negro woman belonging to the
deceased, who after having committed the mur-
der, returned home to the family where she
stayed all night. In the morning when the
body of her mistress was discovered she con-
fessed that she had committed the‘deed,."
