CRIBNER, James M,, TAYLOR, Thomas Howard and TURNER, William J. C,

Scribner, 25-year rs~old, taylor, age unknown, and Turner, 2l-yerrs-old,
were Nashville, Tenn., plack men. On the night of Aug. 7; 197 » they
accosted two 19-year-old white girls who were visiting the grounds of
The State Capitol with a male escort. Threatening all three of the
whites with a pistol, they took turns raping the three women. All
three were taken into custody shortly afterwards and B&S<ixkE posi-
tively identified by the three victims, Tried and convicted, they
were sentenced to die and all three were electrocuted on August ay 9
1948. The warden of the penitentiary stated that all three of them
