Black, electrocuted S. Ce Se Pe (Dillon) on 3-23-1917,
"Dillon, SC, 11-23-1916-After being trailed by bloodhounds
from the scene of the crime to the bedroom of his home,
Arch Campbell, a negro, suspected of being implicated in
the murder of Hugh Harrelson, a prominent planter of Plea-
sant Hill Church section, was placed under arrest today
and lodged in the county jail here. Posses are sea rching
for John Johnson and another negro suspected of being
accessories to the crime, Feeling here is intense and
lynching is feared, Hugh Harrelson was attacked at his
commissary by several negroes whom he was serving last
night and was beaten to death with a blunt instrument,
Robbery is supposed to have been the cause of the crime, a
his clothes were rifled of a nominal sum of money. Almost
