Offence: Murder

Location: Nottoway Co.

Ex Date: 1-7-1853

Details: Sydney was a slave of Mr. Archer Jones.

On 10-22-52 he murdered a white man

named Thomas Dean by bashing him over
the head with an iron poker. Robbery
was the motive. Sydney's value $1000.

Charlotte County, Va., Andrew, slave of Wm. 0,
Bouldin, was sentenced on May 2, 1853, to be
hanged on June 10, 1853, Clerk G. W. Mumford
attested the execution on that date and that he
was valued at $810,
