_ ‘Tyler, & 3l-year-old Negro native of Washington, D. C.,
—and_a World War I veteran was-employed as~a bellhop at~
the Hotel Savoy in Youngstown, Ohio, where Myrtle Williams
~a Negro girl, was also employed. On Mave 2 elo 205 ain phe
__basement..of-the-Hotel-while perpetrating an assault on~
Miss Williams, he cut her throat with a penknife, A year
later, Tyler surrendered in Tylertown, ’ Misse, and con=
_fessed tothe crime, Returned to Ohio, he was convicted -
and he was electrocuted on March 3, 1922, At his request,
he was buried in hie old Army Uniform which he had worn
