"Hdward Earl Johnson, a 26-year-old black man,
is scheduled to be executed in Mississippi on
Wednesday, May 20. He was sentenced in 1980
for the 1979 murder of a white law enforcement

officer. Johnson had broken into the home of
an elderly woman; one of her boarders heard the

noise and called Marshal Trest. When Trest
arrived on the scene, Johnson BXKK panicked and
