THAYER, Nelson, Israel, Jr., and Isaac ;

Nelson, 23-years-old, Israel, Jr., 2l-years-old, and Isaac, 19-years-
old, were the sons of a white farmer, Israel Thayer, who lived near
Boston, Erie Co., N. Y. The two oldest were married and they all
farmed together with their father, They were none too prosperous

and, as a means of sppplementing their income, they took as in as a
boarder, John Love, a Scottish trader who worked the Great Lakes area,
Love, a shrewd and calculating man, leaned KMEXWKARKHAEX money to a
number of people including the Thayer brothers, when they could not
_repay the loan and Love was insistent, they lured him to the home of
