"at a Court of two Magistrates and five Freeholders, con=
vened at Charleston (SC), Michel, a black fellow, owned
by Mr. Ganvier, was convicted of the charge of setting
fire to his master's house in Meetin St. on the night of
the 5th ult. (2-5-1826), The Court have determined that
he shall be hung, and the sentence carried into execu-
tion on the second Friday in April next (April 1), 1826)"
