"Austin, Texas, 1l=2l-1899=This morning at 11:06 o'clock
in the Travis County jail, the negro, Jim Davidson, was
hanged for the murder of George W. Engburg and wife, Upon
ascending the scaffold, Davidson convessed to having
committed the crime and expressed sorrow for it, but felt
that he was going to heaven as he had made peace with his
maker. At. 11:08 the trap was sprung by Sheriff R. E,
White and in 13 minutes Davidson was cut down dead.eses.
