__Harris, a 2h-year-old Negro, had served 5's years in-an
Alabama prison for shooting a man in Hubtsville, Ala.,
~-when he escaped in 1938 and went to Dayton, Ohio, In an
_ argument over a woman, he shot. and-killed Scooter Conners
in Dayton. When Detective Sergeant L, J. Rice went to

arrest Harris, he shot and killed him also, Harris was
converted to religion prior to his. SHSEUXXBRXEK electrocu-
_ tion on Nov. 23, 190 and though he denied that he was _
—puilty of killing Rice, he cheerfully went to the chair,
_His last words were: "Well, well, well} well, well, God
bless everybody here, I'm going to talk to the Lord soon,
