carrier, Grady (Cotton) Cherry and his wife, Ruthine, on

because he had resented the mail carrier's giving a ride
to luffman's 18-year-old daughter in the mmil truck,
Hicks shot Mrs, Cherry and the two men raped her after
she was killed. It was two years before the men were
caught and confessed, each trying to lay the blame on the
other, At the time of his arrest for the murder, luffman
was already serving time in the penitentiary for the
attempted assault of a teen-age girl. Both men were
