"June 10, 1911l-Ed Jones was hanved at Newton, Ga., this
afternoon at 12:05, SheriffRadford sprung the trap.
Jones had been convicted of killing another neero, the
deed being performed about 16 months ago. Since that
time the case has had quite a checkered career, In the
superior court where he was first sentenced, his attorney
who was appointed by the court, made a motion for a new
urlal, but this was denied. Theh be appealed to the
supreme court, which later tribunal affirmed the smtence
of the lower court and JudgeFrank Park set the date of the
execution for today. ihe necro exhibited phenomenal nerve
during the few hours of the morning before the hanging."
