Brinster, a native of Ohio,skilled a man who KANKKAKEM he |
claimed had raped his wife, His trial for murder ended |
in a mistrial and a second trial resulted in his receiving
a five year sentence. After he had served this, he mi-
grated to Texas and shortly afterwards was convicted of
having raped the wife of a non-Commissionen officer sta-
tioned at Fort Davis. The woman maintained that he had
appeared at her house drunk, kicked the door in and then |
assaulted her, Brinster admitted kicking the door in but!
maintained that instead of raping the woman he had actual]
fixed the door, He was hanged at Ysleta, then the Younty
Seat of El Paso County on Pulg Sup, 1883. The rope
