Slave HORATIOW (alias RASKER)

At Orange County, Va., Court of Oyer & Terminer,
held on January 28, 1799, Horatio, alias Rasker,
the slave of Matthew Hughes of Culpeper County,
was convicted of the rape of Margaret Webb, whit
the wife of William Webb and sentenced to be -
hanged on March 1, 1799. Valued at $350, Horat
was 27 or 2 8 years old, Deputy Sheriff attested
the execution.
