Norfolk Borough, Va., Court of Oyer and Termi-

ner, Caesar, mulatto slave of John West was
charged with the murder of James Flood, a cons-
table of Norfolk who was in the execution of
his office, by striking Flood on the head with
a large elub and then holding Flood "Under
Water and mud,' The transcript copied, Sam.
Moseley, Borough Sgt., attested that the execu-
tion took place on’ July 14,1815,
