in a state of intoxication on the evening of the
ith instant in Rankin Sof, Miss., was found
dead on his porch the following morning. All
the other white members of the family had gone
from home leaving a negro woman on whom suspi-
cion at once rested. ‘She denied the deed at
first and attributed it to a negro man but
subsequently confessed her guilt. Since her
confinement however she has again denied
perpetrating the crime. The negro man is
also under arrest."
