"April 20, 1855¢Robert Swift, who was convicted at the
Cecil County Coyrt for the murder of Killour in August
Last, in Harford Gounty, Maryland, was executed today

about a mile and a half from Elkton Top Hill, Md, He

confessed shooting Killour with a double-barreled gun,
discharging at him both barrels at the same time, He saic¢

the murder was not premeditated, but that having heard
that Killour charged him with stealing, and going by
Killour's house, his dog rushed upon him, and, supposing
that he had been set upon him by Killour, he fired at hin,
causing Killour's death, The trial had been removed to
Cecil County on the application of Swift." NEW YORK TIME
