Offence: Murder

Location: Courthouse Point (Cecil Coe)

Result: Hanged Septe 28th 1718

Details: This slave was the joint property of

John Thompson and Rebecca Heatee He was
condemned at the March 1748 session of the Cecil Co.
Court for murdering his wifee His is the case alluded
to in the 3/30/48 issue of the Maryland Gazette. It
is a mystery why so much time elapsed between his con-
demnation and executione There is a gap in the Cecil
County court records at this point as well which makes
