"Williamsburg, Vae, June 3, 1773=-This day Eliphaleth
Musgrove, for murder, was executed at the gallows near
this city. He appeared penitent, but said he suffered
unjustly." VIRGINIA GAZETTE, Williamsburg, Va.e, June

35 1773. GAZETTE of April 22, 1773, reports the convic-
tion of Eliphaleth Musgrove from James City County for
murder. GAZETTE of May 6, 1773, repobts that he has

been sentenced to be hanged.
