Richardson, a soldier belonging to.Capt, Crook-
shank's I ndependent Company of Fuzaleers (sic),
was shoé on Nutten-Island (nose: an island in
New York Harbor where troops were stationed),
for desertion. Rowland Brown, a soldier also,
was to have been shot at the same time for the
Same crime but was reprieved at the place of
execution; ,it having appeared to the Court
Martial that his intention was not to desert.
but absented himself with no other view than. to
