SLAVE JIM (or JIN),

RBxum Fountain, aged about 25 years and un-
married, ‘kept a small groggery on the Hali-
f ax road, near Maj. L. RK. Cherry's! and

was found struck by his own axe on the night
of May 1h, 1857. His mother found him the
next day, but he died without recovering
consciousness on May 16, 1857. Subsequently
‘Negro Jin, the property of Willie Bradley,
has been arrested andcommitted to jail to
take his trial at the next Superior Court,
