"Rureka, Califomia, May 6, 1887-John Rogers was hanged
this afternoon for the murder of Judge J. H. Kimball on
May 28, last year. At midnight on that date, Judge Kim-
ball discovered Rogers in his house and attempted to
arrest him, In the struggle which ensured he was shot
