Dayton, Ohio, offices of Allen and Infinger, grain and feed dealers,
en.the evening of Nove 22, 1902, and slipped inside a side door.
They confronted the 29=year-old bookeeper, Josbph W, Shide, and
another employee and demanded that Shide open the safe, shooting
him in the leg to let him know that they meant business, Shide
explained that the keys were in his'desk and as he hobbled over to
get them, they shot him in the back, The other employee was forced
to get the keys, but they WORXAXNSEXSHSNXRMEXSRRE were unable to
open the safe and the bandits had to satisfy themselves with the
