Sorber, a 35-year-old white native of Dayton, Ohio, was sentenced to
the Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman and assigned to work
in the corn field. on April 13, 1953, Edgar G. "Sonny" McDaniel

arrived at the prison after having received a two=year sentence from
