"Huntsville, Texas, Dece 2, 1952-Alton Paris, 60-year-
old Negro, was electrocuted in the Texas electric chair —
at the Huntsville penitentiary (Anderson County) for

the murder of Gus Engeling, 33, a wildlife biologist,
Paris, the father of 13 children, entered the death

cell at 12:03 AM, The first shock was administered at
12:06 AM and Paris was pronounced dead three minutes
later. ngeling was slain a year ago in a waildlife
reservation near Palestine, His body was found hidden
under a log three days after he was reported missing.
Paris admitted shooting tre wildlife biologist who had
apprehended him for illegal shooting of ducks,"
