on 9-26-1938 for the slaying of three persons in Clevel-
and Heights and shaker Heights. The executed was delayed
several minutes when guards were unable to open a door
leading from Ohio Penitentiary's death row into the death
chamber. They were forced to walk Peters around the small
execution building and in through a side door, Peters
walked steadily to the chair. bis only comment wasxan
almost agay 'Hi, Doc!' addressed to Dr, George Keil, peni-
tentiary physician, The current was applied at 8:12 PM
and death pronounced three minutes later. Convicted by a
jury here June 16, 1938, Peters made no appeal of his sen-

shooting and throwing out of his car Lily Mae Barnes, 26,
a maid, in Shaker Heights, then driving to an apartment
