John Bishop, white, hanged at New Albany, Union Co., MS
on April 15, 1885. for the murder of G. W. Hall, also
white, in November, 1883. Bishop born near Guntown,
Lee Col, MS on Augusé 7, 1842 (agedaged 42), son of
George Washington Bishép. Served in Confederate Army
and was sentenced to shot for striking an officer.
Pardoned from this. Was atenant farmer
