"There is in New Kent jail three negroes, who are now un-
der sentence of death for felony, 2 of whom say they come
from North Carolina, One of them is about 5'6" high, say
he was born in Guadaloupe, can speak French, and that he
belongs to Joseph Sutton in Edenton Coe; another about th
same height, a new Negro, cannot speak plain English, has
earrings in his ears, appears to be very simple, and says
he belongs.to Richard Saunders, in the said county; the
other is a remarkable well made fellow, about 5'8" high,
has a bold countenance, is Virginia born, and says he be~
longs to. Solomon Miller, of Norfolk Co., Vae3 A well set
Mulatto fellow is also in the said goal, who says he was
