"Buchanan, Gae, 5=25-1892-The most noted criminal ever
known here was today convicted of murder and sentenced to
pay the penalty on the scaffold, For several years Asbury
and George Gentry have been the terrors of West Georgia and
Eastern Alabama, Asbury is 26 and George 2), Their father
is a prominent man, but these boys have been the toughest
kind of toughs. All sorts of crimes are laid at their door
horsestealing, arson, thefts of all kinds and finally mur-
der. Carrollton and Buchanan were both almost entirely de-
stroyed by fire recently, and the Gentry s applied the
torch, The hotel at Buchan was blown up by dynamite, and
it developed that the Gentrys did it to kill the Judge,

Prosecuting Attorneys and detectives who were after Paci
Asbury killed an old peddler a few weeks ago and the jury

made short work of his case. He will hang July 15."
